Uber Gift Cards from Kenya: Send Ride and Food Credit to Family Abroad

Uber gift cards are a simple way to send ride or food-delivery credit to family and friends abroad. You pay in shillings with M-Pesa in Kenya, and they spend it on Uber or Uber Eats where they live. There is one rule to know first: an Uber gift card only works on an Uber account in the card's own country.

The short answer

1. Find out which country your recipient's Uber account is registered in.
2. Buy the Uber gift card for that country at iTey Gift Cards and pay with M-Pesa.
3. Forward them the code from your email. They add it in the Uber app under Wallet → Add gift card.

Which countries can I send to?

iTey Gift Cards sells Uber cards for the four countries Kenyans send to most:

• USA: $10, $15, $20, $30 and $40
• UK: £20, £25, £50 and £100
• UAE: AED 50 and AED 100
• South Africa: R250, R500 and R1,000

Every card shows its price in shillings on its page.

Does it work for Uber Eats?

Yes. The balance pays for both Uber rides and Uber Eats orders on the same account. We also list Uber Eats cards for the USA if you want to send food credit specifically.

Can I use it on my Uber account in Kenya?

No. Uber gift cards cannot be used on a Kenyan Uber account; they only work on accounts in the card's country. They are for people abroad, or for your own trip to one of those countries.
